For Marae

Our wharenui, the heartbeat of our hapū and iwi the home of our tūpuna.

We recognise that every marae is more than a place it’s a living home of connection, identity, and learning. Our platform is designed to support marae who already host wānanga, or those preparing to bring new kaupapa to life.

Through Marae Connect, your marae can:

  • List and promote your wānanga reaching local, iwi, and national audiences.
  • Connect with kaiako who can deliver kaupapa aligned with your values.
  • Manage enrolments and set your own participation criteria whether it’s hapū members only, iwi-wide, or open to all.
  • Host and support learning online through our Wānanga Portal, enabling whānau (even those overseas) to take part and stay connected.
  • (Coming soon) Receive payments directly through the platform.

In the near future, Marae Connect aims to help connect marae with nationally accredited qualifications and support marae to fulfil kaiako roles, ensuring your community’s teaching is recognised within Aotearoa’s formal education framework which can also generate sustainable revenue for your marae.

How We Support You:
We’re building a specialised service to strengthen marae-based learning across Aotearoa. From connecting kaiako to recruiting tauira, our goal is to help marae grow their capacity, share their mātauranga, and sustain educational pathways for generations to come.

“He whare wānanga, he puna mātauranga.”
